The Fuggerei

Founded in 1521 by Jakob Fugger, today the Fuggerei is the oldest existing social housing estate in the world. Zugspitze

The Zugspitze is located just 1 hour 30 minutes away from Augsburg by car. At 2962 meters, it is the highest peak in Germany. If you want to experience the breathtaking 360 degree panorama, you can easily reach the Zugspitz Plateau from the valley station on the Eibsee using the Eibsee cable car. In addition, the Zugspitze offers visitors numerous winter sports facilities, as well as cozy ski huts to warm up in. Those who prefer to start from Garmisch-Partenkirchen should take the cog railway to the Eibsee.
