Enterprise Car Rental Locations in Saint-Malo

Saint-Malo, nicknamed the Corsair City, attracts thousands of tourists every year who come to admire its beautiful beaches and its historic center, surrounded by ramparts. The town is located on the Emerald Coast, which owes its name to the blue-green color of the sea found here. A marina, a thalassotherapy center, and a casino are found just at the entrance of the city walls, where historic Saint-Malo begins. The Sillon beach faces the Fort National, as well as the island of Cézembre. Saint-Malo is served by the TGV (French high-speed train), but the station is quite a distance from the tourist attractions. If you're arriving by train, you can rent a car from the Enterprise Rent-A-Car at the St Malo Station branch located on the station forecourt. If you're coming in by plane, you'll arrive at Dinard Airport, a few kilometers from Saint-Malo, where there is also an Enterprise branch: St Malo Dinard Airport.

If you've made your booking online, all you have to do is pick up your car and head toward Saint-Malo – a good 20 minutes' drive.

Attractions in Saint-Malo

The historic center of Saint-Malo is not accessible by car, but there are large parking lots at the entrance to the ramparts. These parking lots adjoin not only the city walls, but also the Sillon beach and seaside attractions (marina, thalassotherapy center, casino). Once inside the walls, you can reach Grand Bé and Petit Bé, little islands located behind the ramparts and only accessible at low tide. You can also visit the Fort National and its old prisons, as well as the castle.

Attraction in the area surrounding Saint-Malo

The Emerald Coast is bordered by beautiful small towns boasting colorful bourgeois houses: there's Saint-Malo and Dinard, but also Cancale, the "city of oysters," Saint-Lunaire, and Saint-Briac, the latter being one of the "most beautiful villages in France." The Pointe du Grouin in Cancale offers fabulous panoramic views of the coast and Saint-Malo. From Cancale, it can be reached by car, but also on foot via a hiking trail. The Rance Tidal Power Station located on the estuary of the Rance River is an impressive structure open to tourists. Departmental road 168 crosses the dam and allows vehicles to travel between Dinard and Saint-Malo.

Parking and traffic information in Saint-Malo

Except within the walls, where only residents can drive, traffic flows quite smoothly in Saint-Malo, although in high season (the run-up to Christmas and during the summer) it can be heavier. There are plenty of parking lots, both at the station and around the center. There is a fee for using the parking lots adjacent to the ramparts. There are free parking lots on the other side of the marina if you're happy to leave your car there and take a 20-minute walk to the city walls.
