Parliament of Brittany

Located in the historic heart of Rennes, the Palais du Parlement de Bretagne was built in the 17th century between 1615 and 1655 by the architect Salomon-de-Brosse. The city’s main heritage building and symbol of Breton history, it has been the seat of the region's court of appeal since 1804. In 1994, a huge fire broke out following violent demonstrations by fishermen. After three years' work, the Palais building has been completely restored and regained its original appearance and rooms. You can visit this magnificent building with its golden rooftop statues representing Force, Law, Eloquence and Justice. Inside, you can admire the Salles des Gros Piliers, the Gran'Chambre and the Salles des Pas Perdus, as well as the many paintings and tapestries dating back to the 17th century.

La Roche aux Fées

Located 45 minutes from Rennes, La Roche aux Fées is a stone formation or dolmen in the village of Essé. Dating from around 2000 BC, it is the largest dolmen in France. It comprises around 40 stones forming a monument that is 19.5 meters long, 6 meters wide and 4 meters high. Legend has it that the stones were brought by the fairy Vivianne and her fairy friends, and the dolmen was built in a single night. Behind this legend is the fact that most of the stones weigh more than 40 metric tons and come from several kilometers away from Essé! The construction of the dolmen remains a complete mystery to specialists.
